A quick update post on where I am with each of the businesses.
cheeky elephant has now launched and taken and fulfilled its first orders. We still have some work to do on getting the photography right (LSH is being shipped off on a professional photography course this weekend so hopefully we will soon have some lovely pics to share). Once we have these we will be launching on notonthehighstreet.com which will hopefully raise our profile and drive further sales. So far the feedback on the products has been great (“the detail is amazing”, “they are just so well made”) so the biggest thing now is ensuring we get the photography to reflect the standard of craftsmanship which has gone into the goods.
YumboxUK has also launched (albeit on a small scale). We air freighted 390 Yumboxes ahead of our big delivery in July and have put them on sale to our newsletter followers and social media network. We sold over half in the first few days and are down to our very last few so (frustratingly) it looks like we are going to have another quiet period while we wait for the bulk of the stock to arrive. Once again the feedback has been great so I am quietly confident when we get our big delivery to amazon we should be all set to launch with a bang. If you would like to get your hands on one, please go to http://www.yumbox-uk.co.uk/pre-order/ and get your order in ASAP.
Whilst all of the above is incredibly exciting, the reality has been far less glamorous. I have spent several evenings with jiffy bags, endless rolls of selotape and (not very helpful!) little helpers (jn the form of my kids) packing up orders and then driving to the local courier office to drop them off. You also literally can’t move in our hall or spare room for boxes of products! Still, it feels great to be doing something so real at last and even more exciting to start seeing money going into the business bank account rather than the usual flow out!
